ABOUT ME, MY LIFE AND SOME THOUGHTS

I was born and raised in a small central-Zealandian village called Sorø (soroe).
Sorø means the "Island of Sor".And island because the village is surrounded by 3 big lakes connected
to eachother by canals built by the Cistercian monks.
These lakes and the big beach forests around them made a wonderfull secure and idyllic frame for my
childhood and had a huge influence upon my view of nature and were later, together with my parents ,
an enormous foundation for me to dare to be who I am!

My farther was a bellringer and a gravedigger
at the old church in Sorø, my mother
assisted him and worked as a nurse at the same time.
I also have two smaller brothers.
My parents care a lot about, and have big
interests in the enviroments, wildlife and
nature around them.An interest they have
been clever enough to pass on to me,
and which still grows stronger by the time.
"The philosphers path"(Left)
A Path following an ancient munkbuild canal
through the woods.
Nothing is like a danish beach forrest in springtime.
-Get here end of April  or
early May and you´ll see an explosion
of colours, sounds and aromas.
Spring and summer is defenitely the
best time of the year to be in Denmark.
Winter is just rain and cold winds!
No snow or polarbears in the streets!
THE CHURCH OF SORØ
The ancient Church of Sorø is among
the biggest in Denmark.
Build by Bishop Absalon who also
founded Copenhagen,-our capital.
The big rooms inside and the simple,
but tasteful and impressive decorations
makes it a peacefull and thoughtful place to
spend time in ,-weather you belive or not....
If You are lucky You can hear the
Organplayer exercise in the daytime
or you can go to some of the many
concerts in nighttime.
The Academy of Sorø
This is the place I graduated from:
an old, partly boarding, school.
Half of the students were local and the rest
were living at the school.
Thank God the school has moved
a few centuries foreward now and most
of the teachers have been replaced since I went there.
Luckily I had one fantastic teacher who
has had a huge influence on my life:
Gunnar Modvig!
Thanks for the lessons of :"the
importense of accepting Yourself and
who you are"!!
Moving to Copenhagen in 1980.
What a step for a countryboy like me to take:
Moving to the "big, polluted, crime-ridden
capital of Denmark"!!!
But what a surprise: it´s full of parks,
open areas,beatiful sceneries
and wonderful people.
Becomming a more and more
multicultural city,we have the chances of
getting the best from the world,
but also the risk of getting the worst!
But nevertheless that forces us to make
up our minds about things,
make stands,reflect on our lives,
-and that is not a bad thing to do!
Having had a Palestinian lover (1994-1999),
I suddenly saw the horrible injustice and
extermination taking place of the original
population of Palestine.
And this is happening allthough the UN years
ago has condemned the Israeli occupation.
Makes you wonder why UN or USA is so
quick to react elsewhere ?
Maybe to move focus!
By the way,-This is me dressed up as an
Arab borrowing Abdels farthers clothes.
Getting a nice flat in the
centre of Copenhagen was so lucky.
It has a great southfaced view to
a big park and to all sides
it faces no neighbours.
It does however still need a
bit of repairments and redecorations.
Trying to compensate for not having a balcony or garden, I tend to overdo the french balcony !

the danish French balcony facades!
