MALAYSIA

Landed the 18th of July in Singapore and had to wait 12 hours before David arrived from NZ.
Used the time to find us a hotel: "Golden Landmark",-costed a fortune.
I´d  mixed up the Malay and the Singaporian currency-Don´t do that!!
Stayed one night in Singapore.

Went by bus to Melaka and stayed one night at the Baba House.
We were recommended a place in KL called the "Swiss in"
After 2 nights in KLwe drove on towards the Taman Nagara national park.

You can have the transport arranged by the very clever guide at the Hotel Malaysia in Chinatown,
-do that! You go by minibus to Jerantut, then by minibus to the jetty in Tembeling then
3 hours by a long noisy boat to the
Taman Negara National Park.

After 4 nights in the park we went by nighttrain to Kuala Krai, with taxi to
Kuala Besut and from there by "slowboat" to the
Perhentian Islands or Pulau Perhentian.

After 6 wonderfull days there we went by taxi to Cherating.
Three very nice days in Cherating and then off by bus to Singapore,
-one night there at the Mcencie Hostel.

Malaysia is a fantastic land with possibilities, wonderfull helpfull and humorous people,
great nature,beaches and rivers.
I have even made a special page for the
Malaysian Muslim women.

But alas a huge lack of enviromental conscioness,
making someparts of Malaysia litterally looking like huge rubbish dumbs with
green areas in between!
